ARTISTS ON THE DETROIT MUSIC FESTIVAL BILL WILL BE "THROWIN' DOWN IN MOTOWN" AUGUST 1 & 2 AT COMERICA PARK

Contact: Kathleen Kennedy, Jeanne Micallef, Kelly Harfoot (313) 471-3200

Music Lovers Now Have The Chance Win Free Tickets

(Detroit, June 27, 2003) - The Detroit Music Festival promises to bring two of the hottest days of smooth R&B and Hip-hop music - Friday, August 1 & Saturday, August 2 - to the Motor City. The show, sponsored by Greektown Casino and Pelle Pelle Apparel, has already donated tickets to the military and is now giving music lovers the chance to win tickets to the two-day event and hotel accommodations, courtesy of Hawthorn Suites of Southfield, when they enter on the festival's official Web site, www.detroitmusifestival.net.

As the highly-anticipated Detroit Music Festival quickly approaches, the line-up for both days continues to sizzle. This year's artist line up is full of stars of yesterday and today. Friday night kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with R. Kelly, The Gap Band, The Isley Brothers, Nas and Jaguar Wright. The music keeps going on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. with Nelly, The O'Jays, The Four Tops, The Whispers, The Temptations, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly and India.Arie.

If the star-studded bill isn't enough excitement, Detroit hustlers better put on their dancin' shoes. Detroit Music Festival fans will also be able to help break the Guinness World Record for the largest line dance in unison on Friday & Saturday, August 1& 2.

Tickets ($43.50, $78.50, $88.50 & $103.50) are available at the Comerica Park and Joe Louis Arena box offices and at Hockeytown Authentics in Troy (without service charges) and at all Ticketmaster locations, including Marshall Field's. To charge by phone, call 248-645-6666. For additional information, call the Detroit Music Festival information hotline at (800) 452-3132 or visit www.detroitmusifestival.net.
